GTA 6 garages and personal vehicles
To keep a car in GTA 6, register it at a Pay 'n' Spray so it becomes a personal vehicle, then store it. You start with room for 3 cars and can buy garages around Leonida for more. Unregistered stolen cars disappear when you restart the game, and safehouses can't be bought.

How to make a stolen car yours
The WAINK phone app shows what it costs to register a car before you steal it.
A car with a tracker has to be cleaned before you can register or sell it. A car fence who removes trackers becomes available later in the game.

Take it to a Pay 'n' Spray and pay the registration fee. The car becomes one of your personal vehicles.

How many cars can you own in GTA 6?
Early on you only have storage for 3 cars. Buying garages around the map lets you own more.

Buying garages
Garages can be bought across Leonida. Safehouses can't: they unlock as the story moves on.
Every personal garage has a weapon locker and a secure spot to drop stolen goods for the local fence.

Stolen cars you haven't registered
A stolen car shows as a grey icon on the radar. It stays where you left it for a while, but it's gone once you restart the game, like the temporary horses in Red Dead Redemption 2.

You can park a stolen car in your garage before you're able to register it, which keeps a valuable car safe until then.

Your car's trunk is your armory
Long guns are no longer carried in an invisible inventory. The guns you own are kept in your personal vehicle's trunk or an Ammu-Nation locker, so dropping one doesn't lose it.

Can you buy houses in GTA 6?
No. Rockstar told previewers that safehouses unlock through the story and can't be bought. Garages can be bought to store more cars.
How many cars can you have in GTA 6?

Do stolen cars disappear in GTA 6?
