How to sell cars in GTA 6

You sell stolen cars in GTA 6 to a Pay 'n' Spray or to a car fence. Pay 'n' Spray is quick but pays little. Specialist fences pay far more, especially for cars on their wanted list. Damage lowers the price, and a car with a tracker can't be sold until it's removed.

Where to sell a stolen car

  • Pay 'n' Spray buys ordinary stolen cars, for much less than a specialist fence pays.

  • Once you sell a car at a Pay 'n' Spray, that shop won't take another one for a while. To sell again quickly, find a different Pay 'n' Spray.

  • Specialist car fences want specific cars. Rob Nelson's example is Randy, a car fence: find a car he's after, steal it and deliver it to him.

  • Specialist fences hand out lists of the cars they want and pay much more for those.

  • Fences unlock as the story goes on, so you may end up with something valuable before anyone will buy it.

How much are stolen cars worth?

  • You don't have to guess: the WAINK app and the Pay 'n' Spray both show what a car is worth before you commit.

    Rockstar dev52

  • In the demo Rockstar showed Flow Games, a specialist fence offered about $21,000 for one car and a specialist buyer about $10,000 for another, while one car was worth around $1,500 at a Pay 'n' Spray. The demo build wasn't final, so prices may change.

  • Damage lowers the price. If you plan to sell, drive carefully on the way to the buyer.

Trackers block the sale

  • Some stolen cars can't be sold right away, so you have to ditch them. Later in the game a car fence appears who can strip trackers. More on trackers in how to steal cars.

  • El Rubius reports that removing a tracker costs money.

Sell it or keep it?

  • Early on you can only keep 3 personal vehicles, so selling one is how you free a slot for a better car. See garages and personal vehicles.

  • Money matters more than in GTA 5: at some points the story won't move on until you have a set amount of cash, and stealing cars is one of the ways to raise it.

  • Cash you carry is lost if you're arrested, so bank your earnings at an ATM. The bank account is shared by Jason and Lucia.
